Welcome! I am Astrid Hilbert. My research includes results in functional analysis, probability
theory and the theory of
dynamical systems. The subjects are often
related to mathematical physics.
I was born in 1955 in Bielefeld, Germany, where I took a degree in Mathematical Physics. I completed my PhD at the
Department of Mathematics, Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, on degenerate diffusions. I have been studying
qualitative properties of solutions and
small parameter estimates for heat kernels of degenerate diffusions.
Since September 2000 I am working as Lektor
at the University of Växjö where I became Docent in March 2004. Before I
have been working at universities in Luleå,
Clermont Ferrand, and Bochum. A European research grant gave me the possibility
to work at the University of Warwick for a
longer period.
